Video of The Day: Weekender

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Weekender's "Modern Daydream" is "a reflection of feeling stagnant and looking for the next phase of life. It speaks to chasing something that we are programmed to chase, and the desire to break out of that cycle – make a ton of money, buy a lot of stuff, make your life look awesome on the internet." Sweetened with some floaty, dreamy psych pop, the song's lamentations are thinly, but prettily, veiled.

For the song's video, the Philly outfit's gone cultish, complete with matching robes, kooky symbols, and even some choreographed dance moves. This well-shot clip should leave you feeling positive, thanks to a bounty of sunshine and the promise of a happy ending.
