Video of The Day: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. Here's a Video of The Day pick that Intern Andrew think is a cut (or two) above.

Noel Gallagher’s ambitious artistry never ceases to amaze as he continues to ride the wave of groundbreaking material he introduced on his 2017 cosmic pop odyssey, Who Built The Moon?.

Deviating from the storied accomplishments and accolades he racked up during his time in Oasis; Noel Gallagher’s latest single “Black Star Dancing” exemplifies the crisp, psychedelic scenery he seems to want to illustrate in his evolving musical landscape. Akin to the likes of INXS, Blondie, Chic, as well as the obvious nod to David Bowie, “Black Star Dancing” strikes a kaleidoscopic groove that sparks the disco-esque desire to hit the dance floor.

Paired with the music video paying homage to his Mancunian roots, Gallagher channels 1970s Britain as he and his High Flying Birds perform on Granada Television’s variety show The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club. Sticking to his modus operandi of unapologetically showcasing working-class Northwest England on a global stage, Noel Gallagher looks on top form as he plans to unveil 3 four-track EPs by the end of 2019.

"Black Star Dancing" is the title track from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ latest EP, slated for release on June 14th.
