Video of The Day: Las Rosas

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Las Rosas released their second longplayer Shadow by Your Side earlier this year, and the divine "Tax Man" comes from said record. The Brooklyn outfit's commentary on the current artistic climate is harsh, but the song's high dose of dandy psych grit softens the edges nicely. It's as catchy as you like, this song, and it was made for repeated consumption.

The song's video is a cheeky, stop-motion animation affair that plays up the snark of the song while providing some impish fun. Beatriz Sánchez's work brings together vintage imagery with that of the band, and the result is a heck of a good time.
