Video Of The Day: The Entrepreneurs
There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
I love to be kept on my toes, and "Heroine," from Danish noise rock trio The Entrepreneurs certainly does the trick. Epic in length and full of all sorts of sonic twists and turns, the song is an incredibly layered and intricate work. The Copenhagen outfit's heroine worship is a bit like the sonic version of a love letter written in blood; fixated, reverential, and sinuous with a furtive, slightly erratic underbelly. It's what you might expect from a band who like "noise and romance" (which just so happens to be the name of their forthcoming LP, due out early next year). Basically, I like it a whole heck of a lot.
The song's video is light on effects, which is just fine because the clip is actually a live version of "Heroine," and really speaks for itself. The eerie green lighting and tight shots of each band member add to the song's heightened tension.
