Singles Club: Dan Rico + Freedom Fry + Kevin Krauter

Consider Singles Club your musical matchmaker. I do hope you'll give all these ready to mingle bachelors and bachelorettes your ear as you listen to some new favorite tunes. Read on in the hopes of finding your musical love connection.

This isn't the first time I've gushed a little about Dan Rico, and it probably won't be the last. Once again, the Chicago-ite's sound is steeped in sticky sweet 70s vintage. "Hot to Please" is oh so addictive, with a Pied Piper beat and some vocals awash with hints of Anglophilia. A nod to The Rolling Stones and "Not Fade Away" wraps things up, as does a bit of playful falsetto. A sublime summer tune indeed.

LA duo Freedom Fry tugs the heartstrings with their sweeping, lovelorn folk nugget "Die Tryin." From new record Classic, "Die Tryin" is a slow burner, a determined mea culpa that culminates in a heck of a pretty noise. Boy-girl vocals are in perfect harmony as the song rolls along, heavy with heartache and defiance.

It didn't take long for me to fall for the languidly shimmering lo-fi pop of Kevin Krauter's "Suddenly." Disarmingly delightful, "Suddenly" has a certain spark - and it's also catchy as all get out. Definitely the kind of song you're likely to find yourself humming at random times during the day, as though it's been stuck in your head for years. And it just might be. Bonus: catch Kevin out on the road this summer, where he may just play this particular gem up close and in person.
