Video of The Day: Hibou
There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
With "Fall Into," Seattle's Hibou (Peter Michel) crafts a song that slinks along with a glossy sheen, breathless ice crystal bedroom pop with a heck of a shimmy. Instantly in smit with this gem, it was around the 3:15 mark is when I truly fell in love with "Fell Into," the headstrong, heady wall of noise tumbling beautifully around me and exposing the seriousness hinted at amongst the earlier effervescence. The video is simple but right on, Michel starring in scenes with vast fields, a bathtub, and bloodied nose.
"Fall Into" comes from the record Something Familiar, out March 2 on Barsuk, a date you should probably note on your calendar.
