Video of The Day: The Limiñanas f/ Anton Newcombe

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

I was destined to love "Istanbul is Sleepy." You see, not only is this Limiñanas song fiercely fantastical and full of all sorts of irresistible musical mysticism, but the French twosome went and pulled Anton Newcombe in to provide the haunting, hypnotic vocals. It's a match made in heaven. The video's bold graphics play along with all of the smoky, heavy-lidded psych jangling and the underlying buzz of some dreamy drone, and it all gets yours truly into a very happy place indeed.
