Sounds of Hopscotch 2017 #21: Cende

It's time once again to cast a longing glance down to Raleigh and the delectable Hopscotch. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best festivals around, and since 2010 it's been doing nothing but get bigger and better every year. Sadly, I won't be there this year, but I've pored over the lineup and have a handful of picks that I think you should pay close attention to.

I'm pretty sweet on Cende, y'all. These Brooklyn dudes make a heck of a feisty, jangly fuzz pop. There's a sweetness to their songs, just underneath all the wonderful racket. Cende comes off as rather exciting on record, and I'd hazard a guess that their live show is pretty special.

Cende plays at Neptunes at 11:30 PM on 9/9.
