Sounds of Hopscotch 2017 #10: Ahleuchatistas

It's time once again to cast a longing glance down to Raleigh and the delectable Hopscotch. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best festivals around, and since 2010 it's been doing nothing but get bigger and better every year. Sadly, I won't be there this year, but I've pored over the lineup and have a handful of picks that I think you should pay close attention to.

Their name is a mouthful, and Ahleuchatistas's music isn't all that straightforward either. Which is a good thing. This two-headed monster brings forth an ocean of sounds in each song, multiple rhythms enveloping and surrounding until overwhelming. This is serious avant psych, and it is seriously good stuff indeed.

Ahleuchatistas plays Slim's at 11:30 PM on 9/8.
