On The Road Again: Gwenno

I was a fan of The Pipettes and their sassy, slightly over-the-top girl power pop. Fast forward a few years, and Gwenno Saunders has traded in her polka dots and effervescent peppiness for a single-name moniker and some seriously slinky, Welsh language electro Euro/kraut disco. Gwenno has become quite the chanteuse, all breathy vocals and sparkling, sophisticated noise (masking a more serious, politically-leaning message).
