Singles Club: Pom Poms

Oh sure, it's popular these days to attempt emulation of that most golden of eras, the girl group/wall of sound Spector-ian beauty. But where many try, not many can rightfully claim success.

Pom Poms, however, now that's a different story. With "Betty" the band cagily coos their way through a song that successfully hits the mark, without it sounding like a mere tribute song. It's a song you might well find yourself listening to repeatedly, and not minding it one bit.
