Video of the Day: Field Studies

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

I actually have a small collection of fortunes plucked from fortune cookies over the years, so this video from Nottingham's Field Studies has obvious surface level appeal. On a deeper level, the clip for "Fear on the Rise" shows fortunes in degrees from the banal to the cutting ("Slut," "It's Your Fault," etc.) that play off the song's brooding, melancholic appeal. And I do so love a bit of a clamor, which the end of the song definitely delivers. Both are rather engaging, and I've got plenty of time for both song and video.
