Video Of The Day: La Bête Blooms

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

I like to go one of either two ways musically-speaking on Monday mornings, tending to listen to things that are either excessively loud and snarly or somewhat on the pretty, mellow side. La Bete Blooms falls more towards the latter end of the spectrum with their latest single "Wishing I Could Kill," with taut, perfectly-plucked guitars and perfectly wistful vocals. The video itself is shot in lovely shades of pale, highlighting the band as they play said single in the gray English sunlight. To my ears, the song has an effortless, classic appeal, playing up sentiment and nostalgia while also coming off as  breath of fresh air. I suspect this shan't be the last time I talk about this Hull collective.

As an added bonus, you can nab the track as a free download today, so make sure you snap to it.
