Video of The Day: HONEYMOAN
There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
Cape Town outfit HONEYMOAN first turned my head a few months ago with the delirious delight of "Still Here", and with "Too Much" they've reeled me in once again. The song's ethereal sonic sweetness is cut with tart tumult, crunchy guitars and lyrics that are anything but cute.
Alison Rachel's voice alternates between honey-coated siren and '90s alt-rock bite, a vocal double act that's right at home against the dreamy duality of the song. Once again, HONEYMOAN provides a heck of a rush.
Director Jesse Navarre Vos played with a light/dark motif, as shot in and around Cape Town. Cinematic sunsets and cracked looking glass vibes make the video a solid visualization for this addictive song.
