Video of The Day: Vistas

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

As we know, I'm a bit of a sucker for a love song, and Scottish outfit Vistas has just shared their dynamite little love song "Sucker," along with a video. Which, it must be said, I'm a bit of a sucker for.

The Edinburgh trio's lovestruck song has the kind of irrepressibly catchy chorus that can get stuck in your head for days - think The Wombats but with a bit of a chip on the shoulder. It's a high drama, highly sentimental little treasure.

The video, too, is a gem, and features an endearing performance from guest star Martin Trenaman, an honorary member of Vistas after this, I should think. What starts as a lonely hearts open mic performance turns into a full band performance, the Vistas lads backing Trenaman in matching, powder blue suits (definitely hearkening back to the golden era of love songs). Between Trenaman's performance, those baby blue suits, and the song's precocious puppy love, I'm well and truly hooked.
