Video of The Day: Do Nothing
A little bit Talking Heads, a little bit Fat White Family, Do Nothing's deliciously sly, sarcastic "LeBron James" is sheer seedy delight. Inspired by such notorious con artists like him behind Fyre Festival, "LeBron James" feels coated in sticky, dive-bar-at-noon sleaze, with a shameless shimmy pulsating all over the place. Intonations both deadpan and somewhat over the top, such as "if you lived here you'd be home right now," and "I got all dressed up for nothing," add humor to the rakish rancor.
The Nottingham band called in friends and family to star in the video, their vignettes open to all manner of interpretation. The dark comedy angle proves the perfect backdrop for this irresistible song. Dare I say, it's a slam dunk.
