Video of The Day: Wished Bone
There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
Ohio-bred, LA-based Wished Bone makes thoughtful, modern twee pop with a hint of melancholia. On latest single "Trees We Couldn't Tell the Size Of," Ashley Rhodus weaves an intricate, introspective web of lovestruck hindsight, her breathy vocals calling to mind decades past, the song's twilight sunshine shimmering somewhere between lovesick and over it. Totally swoon-worthy.
The video's fantastic concept of sun-drenched, throwback housewife vibes (ironing in a tranquil stream, etc.) and epic California scenery makes for an interesting visual companion to this particular Wished Bone ditty.
