Video of The Day: Deeper

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

On "Run," Chicago's Deeper exhibits a lean and hungry, live-wire varietal of post-punk. With sharp angularity and taut notes giving the song an impatient feel, it also offers an irrepressible, almost pop appeal. Give them a chance and Deeper will gladly get stuck in your head. And lo, is that an air of playfulness? In a song that contains a lyric "so fuck it and run," that just might be the case.

The video's 80s-style, stop motion visuals star a balaclava'd protagonist doing his best to tear himself away from his computer screen. Probably something we should all be trying to do more of. So why not go outside and dance like crazy to Deeper!
