Video of The Day: CHAMPS

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

I love a good cinematic video, and the clip for "Red Star" definitely fits the bill. The song is yet another triumph from CHAMPS, a song that's full of a gentle, ghostly gracefulness. The song's emotional inspiration of "longing, patience, and devotion through trying circumstances" is quite poignant.

The bittersweetness and sense of yearning found in "Red Star" are captured well in the video's moody coastal scenes, beginning and ending with sea and sky.
