Video Of The Day: Grand Vapids
There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
The sticky, droning fuzz of Grand Vapids's "Glassing Out" feels so very right in the middle of a heatwave. The song, which pulled inspiration from failed relationships and avoiding confrontation, has an anchor of comfortable repetition cut through by bursts of scratchy, empassioned vocals.
The song's video is definitely not suitable for those with photo-sensitivity issues. For those of us who can process the strobe effects, there's a lot of trippy cat-related content that makes the video pretty freaking awesome.
The Athens band's new record, Eat The Shadow, is out this coming July.
