Video of The Day: Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever
There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever is in town next month, and I'm pretty excited about it. I'm also pretty excited that RBCF has a new video out for the languid piece of Sunday afternoon Antipodean fuzz that is "Read My Mind."
Slow motion, black and white rodeo scenes work unexpectedly well with the song's drowsy jangling. Warwick Baker, the video's director, "wanted to document the theater and ritual of the rodeo without glorifying or condemning it." His focused, honest scenes are powerful without pulling focus from the fantastic song.
