Video of The Day: Divino Niño

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

There's such a delicious, sultry kick to Divino Niño's effervescent "Foam," and the song's title is really quite fitting. The song's origins come down to the shock of a Chicago winter to a band from Bogotá, with guitarist Camilo Medina explaining, "Chicago winters are brutal, especially if your body grew up in a tropical climate. With 'Foam,' I'm trying to imagine a warm, cozy environment with sunshine and sea." Hints of tropicalia and some lighthearted, throwback beats add a lush warmth.

The video is wonderfully trippy, Thami Nabil's eye-popping color palette and whirlwind of far out characters make this a heck of a view.

Keep an eye out for Divino Niño live dates with Durand Jones & The Indications this spring.
