Video Of The Day: NUEX
There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
Local duo NUEX's "Eyes" is completely captivating, Camille Michelle Gray's vocals sultry and direct against Teddy Aitkin's darkly sinuous production. This is a heck of a heady listening experience, intense and rich and enticing.
The song is compelling, and so too is the video. Directed by Abraham Vilchez-Moran, the powerful clip centers around the tumultuous home life of a young kid. It's the kind of video that immediately draws you in, and I found it impossible to look away. The video may not be what you might expect for the song, but together they work even more beautifully than they do independently.
