Video Of The Day: Jesse Harris

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

"Out Of Time" is full of lullingly laid-back troubadourian appeal. Between Jesse Harris' smoky, effortless vocals and that splendid, slightly off-kilter guitar, the song glides placidly along, velvet and (mostly) mellow. There's something so comfortable about the song, with its universal lovelorn lamenting.

The song's video takes an aquatic angle, showing Harris on the seashore as well as brief pseudo fishtank scenes. The old adage of time and tide waiting for no man that the sea conjures up work well with the song's lament at being out of time. Well played, indeed.
