Video Of The Day: Jackie Cohen

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Another Spacebomb sweetheart, Jackie Cohen is a revelation. "I loved you wastefully, darling," she sings in the sublime "Darlin'," with a note of bitterness crystallizing on her confessional. With a twang-meets-synth vibe swelling all around her feisty vocals, Cohen's latest is a heck of a gem.

The video, in Cohen's words an "exaggerated, garish home-workout video," uses saturated color, some distortion, and Twizzlers to help tap into Cohen's "mechanisms of anxiety management."
