Video Of The Day: The Horrors

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Tension and foreboding are sonic hallmarks of The Horrors, and the gorgeous gloom of "Ghost" is no different. The song finds something revelatory and magnificent in undulating, murky shadows. There's the slow, steady climb toward something explosive - the blinding, white hot melting moment.

The song's video goes in for many shades of gray, focusing on closeup moments of tenderness, anguish, and innocence. It's intense, and at times uncomfortable. But it works, and does a fine job of capturing that searing intensity the band creates time and time again.
