Video Of The Day: Tomberlin

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Tomblerlin's "Seventeen" is the kind of song that can stop you in your tracks. It's an incredible poignant song, raw with honesty and emotion and quietly intense. Not only that, but this achingly beautiful song is likely to hit a nerve with its incredibly relatable commentary on love. Sarah Beth is right on target, both from a lyrical standpoint (my favorite: "Love is mostly war/and love what is it for") and her delicate, almost hesitant delivery.

The song's video is a lovely thing as well, capturing the exhilaration of youth and falling in love (before things go pear-shaped).

I strongly suggest you pre-order Tomberlin's forthcoming Saddle Creek debut At Weddings, scheduled for release on 8/10.
