Video Of The Day: Ocean Potion
There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
Ocean Potion is hot off the press, the joint venture between Mike O'Brien (Zeus) and Jason Haberman (Yukon Blonde). After their bands toured together, the duo decided to work together, having discovered their shared appreciation of sound and veggies, and are working on a full-length record.
According to the duo, "In The Grass" is about "childhood friendships that suddenly end. The person who was your best friend is out of your life forever. It's about looking back on those relationships, and wondering where that person ended up in life after your paths separated." Their introspective musings are set to music that's equally nostalgic, replete with hazy washes of fuzz and a jauntiness that's deceptively sunny.
The song's video features some super 8-esque footage, some youthful wanderlust, and a plot twist (and y'all know how much I enjoy a plot twist). I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more from these two gents.
