Video of The Day: Paige Calico

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

With "Country Mind," songbird Paige Calico conveys a lovely sense of yearning, her own spin on the "grass is greener" theme. With Calico's wistful, breathy contemplation set to a pretty lo-fi reverie, the song smolders with subtle urgency.

The companion video is a stunner, showing Calico in both city and country in a sort of "Sliding Doors" moment. Says Calico, "I wanted to create a video based on translations and opposites, which sums up “Country Mind.” I often struggle with feeling like I’m meant to be in another place than I am. Especially when it comes to country vs city life." The video captures the the essence of both, with a bit of a twist to boot.
