Video of The Day: Matt Costa

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

There's something heady about Matt Costa's "Sharon," a cautionary, lovelorn lament that listens like a man trying to talk himself out of something. With a nod to the 80s, and a jangle brimming with pitch perfect nostalgia pop, Costa's latest chapter from the forthcoming Santa Rosa Fangs (out this Friday on Dangerbird) hits plenty of sweet spots.

The video, shot at the wonderfully over-the-top Sip N Dip Lounge in Montana, works beautifully with the throwback feel of Costa's tune. Beware the playful mermaid in the swimming pool, my friends. And perhaps watch out for Blue Hawaiians.
