Video of The Day: The Limiñanas
There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
The sun has finally come back, at least for a day, and the burst of bright makes today feel like a day for listening to the technicolor sounds of The Limiñanas. "Pink Flamingos" feels a little like some newly-discovered 60s psych pop, a fantastical sonic fairy story.
The video for "Pink Flamingos" reminds me of one of my favorite childhood stories, Harold and The Purple Crayon. The charming simplicity reminiscent of Crockett Johnson's 50s classic works so well with the lazy Sunday afternoon vibes of the song. Yet another gem from this French twosome.
