Video of The Day: La Luz

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Shimmering with heavenly haze, La Luz's "Mean Dream" is a masterful piece of sylvan Southern California psych. The harmonies the ladies coo throughout are absolutely mesmerizing, and the song has an overall hypnotic appeal.

The video sees the band on a set resembling a 70s variety show, with some interesting set extras. Things get a little weird, as often happens in dreams (mean or otherwise), and that's not a bad thing.

Be sure to catch La Luz on their massive US tour that kicked off last night in San Francisco. They're in DC June 11 at the Songbyrd Music House.
