Video of The Day: Jenny Hval

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

There's such a dreamlike quality in Jenny Hval's captivating "Spells," a rambling, mercurial wonderland of ever-shifting soundscapes. Hval's voice dances along, sometimes coquettish, sometimes bold, and always bewitching.

The video for the song could itself be interpreted as a dream, with Hval the central figure in a kooky house party. Marshmallows, pillow fighting, and doppelgängers all figure prominently in this madcap, good time video.
