Video of The Day: Lean
There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
"Inaction" is LA duo Lean's "general impression of how people are and particularly some of our worst qualities." This commentary on character flaws is delivered against the smoothest, most silken vocals and an overall sinuousness. As pretty as the song is, and sweet mercy it certainly is, there's an undeniable bittersweetness. It may not relate to one particular relationship, but there's much here that's painfully relatable.
The song's hand-in-glove video, directed by Davy Greenberg, sees a gradual relationship breakdown against a picture postcard perfect California setting. Hunker down with this one, y'all, because once definitely won't be enough.
