Video of The Day: Cut Copy

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

This song has been all sorts of running rampant through my mind this week, so it's only right to go ahead and talk about it a smidge. Y'all know I loved Cut Copy's latest record, Haiku From Zero, and "Black Rainbows" can be found on said record. It's the kind of song these Aussies do best; sinuously prismatic, glossy-but-not-too-much dancefloor dynamism. As with so many of their songs, it also happens to be impossibly addictive.

The song's video is chock-a-block with all sorts of images (hand-drawn, photographs, live action, video game...) that work together in an endless loop of movement. There's so much going on that it's almost overwhelming, and yet it all works. And works with the song. And yes, there's a rainbow or two thrown in.

Cut Copy also happens to be on the road here in the US as we speak. Some of you lucky people are in their path - make sure you check the dates below, and go see these dudes if you're in their path.
