Video of The Day: Mimicking Birds

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

The evocative melancholy of "Sunlight Daze" spills over into the song's video, and then some. The spine-tingling atmosphere of Mimicking Birds soundtracks this cinematic clip that serves not only as a stunning visual but as a social commentary as well.

The sadness of the insatiable need to be liked from a social media standpoint, as well as the tendency to pat oneself on the back, to the obliviousness of more serious situations (in this case, represented by the desert stranding of a merman) is all too real. As is, of course, the loveliness of the song. Not only something to enjoy but something to think about, as well.
