On The Road Again: yndi halda

Well, well, well. Look who's taking their show on the road?

It doesn't seem possible, but it's been quite a number of years since I saw yndi halda play an absolute stunner of a set in a small gallery in Richmond. Since then, the atmospheric English outfit has been deliberately honing their sounds, and readying a new EP for its release in February.

"A Sun Coloured Shaker" is the titular track from said EP, and the song exhibits a golden, more melodic and harmony-lit direction from the band's heavily instrumental, post-punk sounds of the past. As textured and intricate as ever, this epic is a masterful work of half-full/half-empty noise, contemplative and ponderous with the desire for optimism swirling within. To see this, and other ydni halda gems, will be a treat for those in the path of the US tour. Don't make me tell you twice. Go see this band.
