Video of The Day: The Wombats

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

The last day of the year calls for something special. With this video from The Wombats, we're sending 2017 out with a bang (or two).

It all begins innocuously enough, just three dudes hanging out at night watching a lot of nothing happens. Until a particular car zooms by, carrying off a certain tennis ball with it, that is.

As the band's nervy, impatient noise billows behind, things take a serious turn for the worse. And then, along comes a heck of a plot twist. In a way, the video feels a bit metaphoric, if you're a woman.   "Lemon to a Knife Fight" is a howl-at-the-moon kind of dandy, and the video for the song is as well. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to The Wombats invading US shores in just over a week.
