Video of The Day: Roxy Music

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

This song just so happened to pop into my head last night, so here we are. Roxy Music's "Love is The Drug" is pretty much a perfect song, bringing together a muscly, swaggering bassline, just the right amount of seedy, late night glam, and, of course, Bryan Ferry's decadent and incredibly magnetic vocals.

The video shows the Roxy boys performing "Love is The Drug" in a manner truly befitting the song: with Ferry sporting an eye patch and some sort of flight suit, a shower of bubbles, and two babes in throwback stewardess outfits. My only grievance is that the clip cuts out about half of the song, so for kicks I've included a fan creation that sets the song to scenes from the Federico Fellini-directed Toby Dammit, from the 1968 horror triad Spirits of The Dead. It's definitely an interesting take on the song, but it works.
