Video of The Day: Duncan Lloyd
There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
I very recently had the pleasure of seeing Duncan Lloyd perform with his band Maximo Park, which is always a highly-recommended endeavor.
So too is checking out this video for Lloyd's "Painters," from his 2017 solo record I O U O M E. While Lloyd's brand of lovely, warm lo-fi pop streams along in golden waves, the video highlights artists at work. The focus is on not only the act of painting itself, but on the finished product, the textures of the paintings, and inspirational landscape and urban scenes. It's a multi-layered approach, as is the song. Just consider it art imitating art imitating art.
