'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house...I was finding myself looking at email, and came across some extra special holiday songs to share with you, my little elves. I hope you'll enjoy this trio of festive goodness.

Danes Marching Church make a pretty holiday noise about...a parental kidnapping. Definitely not traditional holiday fare, but the mournful brass and impassioned vocals make this darkly dramatic little number a good distraction from the predictability of the standard crop of Christmas songs.

POND's Christmas offering is as weird and wonderful as you might expect. "All I Want for Xmas (Is a Tascam 388)" is a technicolor tumble, acid dance psych for rambling reindeers. The video stars the band's Shiny Joe Ryan in some festive finery, engaging in some hijinks in POND's native habitat of Fremantle, Australia.

And finally, some fuzz pop perfection straight outta Glasgow, courtesy The Spook School. A song that highlights the complexities of relationships and the complexities of how people in said relationships deal with said complex relationships, the message is coated in just enough saccharine to become instantly irresistible. Look for The Spook School on US shores in early 2018, why not buy yourself a ticket as a Christmas gift?
