Video of The Day: The Velveteins

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

"Strange Side of The Street" is a bit on the dreamy side, with delightful waves of fuzzy, scuzzed-out surf rock jangle capped with a bit of an instrumental freakout at the back end. The video for this gem from Edmonton's The Velveteins, dedicated in loving memory to Jerry Garcia, sets the action smack in the middle of some California sunshine - art imitating life, in a way. All the thumbs up for this one.
