Video of The Day: Boy Azooga

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

From Cardiff comes the prismatic, percussion-centric odyssey of Boy Azooga and their dandy "Face Behind Her Cigarette." The new Heavenly Records signees, led by mastermind Davey Newington, let loose a heck of a racket with this unrelenting fiend of a track. It's a far out, fuzzed-up vintage space funk nugget with an absolutely diabolical monster beat. The video's green screen hijinks play into the throwback feel, and are appropriately kooky. Very nice, very nice indeed.
