Singles Club: Born Ruffians + Dizzy + Mind Spiders

Consider Singles Club your musical matchmaker. I do hope you'll give all these ready to mingle bachelors and bachelorettes your ear as you listen to some new favorite tunes. Read on in the hopes of finding your musical love connection.

Born Ruffians' Luke Lalonde started to write "Forget Me" the day David Bowie died. An ode to mortality and embracing the white light, the band tackles a bummer of a subject with a tender affection, dreamy acoustic strumming and emotion-heavy vocals leading the way through this charmer. The video, starring Lalonde, also deals with loss in a quirky and cinematic way.

Born out of treading water in suburbia, Dizzy's "Swin" is anything but boring. This is dreampop on tenterhooks, a song bursting with urgency and impatience and full of big ideas. A rather blissful effort from these young Canadians.

At last, new Mind Spiders! From the forthcoming record Furies comes "Outside," a frenetic and unrelenting little hellion. The band has shapeshifted somewhat to include some electronic elements into their noise, but the direct approach is still de rigueur.
