Singles Club: Bee Bee Sea + Krief + Slow Magic

Consider Singles Club your musical matchmaker. I do hope you'll give all these ready to mingle bachelors and bachelorettes your ear as you listen to some new favorite tunes. Read on in the hopes of finding your musical love connection.

With a twitching, shaky intensity, Bee Bee Sea is rather hard to ignore. This Italian outfit harnesses a chaotic, uninhibited sort of rock and roll, as gleeful as it is shambolic. "Sonic Boomerang" is a party and a half, and requires listening to at high volume.

Patrick Krief was once part of the dreamy Canadian ensemble The Dears, and continues making dreamy noise these days as Krief. "Ordinary Lies" is a spectral, levitating concoction, swells of immense, bittersweet loveliness ebbing and flowing so very elegantly.

I'm a fan of the "Sunset Edit" of Slow Magic's "Belong 2 Me," because it's got the added bonus of Peter Silberman of The Antlers on vocal duties. Those shadowy, supernatural vocals fit perfectly with the song's eerily ethereal energy. There's something unfulfilled here, and a sense of expectation heightens each note.
