Holiday Gift Guide 2017: Festival Tickets

We've all seen the onslaught of ads telling us that holiday shopping season has officially begun. Pressure to open they wallet as some kind of duty aside, presents are fun. And giving is a pretty great thing to do, so I've pulled together some ideas to bring a little seasonal joy to the life of your favorite music lover.

If you really want to impress your bestie or significant other, why not get them a really, really special present this year? Something that goes above and beyond. I'm talking, of course, about tickets to a music festival.

Festivals make a great gift. Imagine the joy of receiving tickets to your favorite (or soon to be favorite) festival. That's a seriously impressive gift. There's such a variety on offer, sure to please any music personality.

You've got your traditional festival experiences, the big names that everyone knows (SXSW, Coachella, Pitchfork, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits).

Then there's some of my favorites, the Psych oeuvre. Starting, of course, with Levitation (formerly known as Austin Psych Fest), and spreading tentacles all over the US and the world (remember how much I gushed about Liverpool Psych Fest?).

Strong regional offerings include the excellent Hopscotch down in Raleigh, the always-intriguing Treefort in Boise, and the pre-SXSW Savannah Stopover.

The best thing is that the above represents just the tip of the iceberg. There's no end to the festivals on the circuit these days, and tickets to any of them should put quite a smile on anyone's face.
