Video of The Day: Wild Ones

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

This video for "Standing in The Back at Your Show" really speaks to me. After all, who hasn't wanted their beloved to sweep them away for a coastal motorcycle ride? Or some such romantic scene like that...While the cinematography is lovely, it's the song from Wild Ones that's truly special. The Portlanders capture that "emotional Trojan horse" of "heartache in seductive packaging" to glossy perfection, the sweetness of their languid dreampop tempered by some weighty lyrics and raw feels coming through the candy vocals. Seriously recommended viewing/listening.
