Good Cover Version: The Head and The Heart Does Crowded House

Pulp gave the world the song "Bad Cover Version." But seeing as I'm a sonic optimist, I'm of the belief that there's more likely than not more good cover versions floating around than bad ones. Good Cover Version celebrates the good, and leaves all that bad and ugly stuff alone.

"Don't Dream It's Over" is one of those songs that was everywhere and then some back in the 80s. In taking on the Crowded House hit, The Head and The Heart manages to stay pretty faithful to the song's weighty, emotive slant while also ensuring their interpretation is just as impossibly infectious.

The Head and The Heart is currently out on the road, with their tour pulling in at DC's shiny new Anthem for a Friday night that's sure to start the weekend off on a mighty fine note.
