Video of The Day: CLOVES

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

The first time I watched the video for "California Numb," I was reminded of one of my favorite videos of all-time: Richard Ashcroft's angry walking in "Bittersweet Symphony," The Verve's biggest hit. Though, with CLOVES, as with The Verve before her, it's about more than the strut. Despite being but 21 years of age, this lady has pipes for days and depth beyond her years. With that kind of voice and that kind of strut, visual and aural jolt, "California Numb" is a doozy.
