Good Cover Version: The Sea The Sea Does Bob Dylan

Pulp gave the world the song "Bad Cover Version." But seeing as I'm a sonic optimist, I'm of the belief that there's more likely than not more good cover versions floating around than bad ones. Good Cover Version celebrates the good, and leaves all that bad and ugly stuff alone.

Bob Dylan covers are countless, but the good ones are probably much less numerous. I'm a fan of this one, and I hope you will be too. Upstate New York outfit The Sea The Sea has taken on "I'll Keep It With Mine," a song also recorded by Velvet Underground chanteuse Nico, and their version of the song hums with an electric energy, powerful and just plain lovely. Rich vocals and a purity of spirit make this a heck of a cover indeed.
